Mainframe developer.

The mainframe is where I work: the platform running systems that process data for hundreds of thousands of people. Day to day that means COBOL and JCL on IBM z/OS, plus SQL and whatever else the task needs.

German payroll has been my area since 2023, tax calculation specifically. Every change here has two layers: the regulation, which has to be read literally, and the code, which has to apply it to data collected over years. Nothing leaves my desk for production half understood.

My background is an engineering degree in computer science, specialisation in programming technologies. I spent over five years in Germany and that is where the language comes from. Today it is a working tool, because the regulations and the documentation I deal with are German. From October 2026 I am also studying German philology at the University of Wrocław.
